Barcelona Montessori School began in 2015 as a small, heartfelt project. Today, the school serves over 180 children and their families, with more than 3,000 square meters of indoor facilities and 6,000 square meters of land dedicated to learning and exploration.

At Barcelona Montessori School, the team is constantly seeking ways to deepen their understanding of the child and enrich the educational experience.

One impactful step in that journey was participating in the Montessori Sports School Mentoring Program, which profoundly reshaped their approach to movement and Physical Education within a Montessori environment.

One of the most influential insights from the program was the importance of designing P.E. sessions that truly respond to each child’s individual needs. Movement is no longer viewed as a series of isolated skills to be taught and measured, but rather as a meaningful process of exploration, discovery, and self-expression.

By allowing students to learn through trial and error and at their own rhythm, the school nurtures autonomy, intrinsic motivation, and joy in movement. This aligns deeply with the Montessori philosophy and reinforces the team’s commitment to seeing each child as capable, unique, and on their own path of growth.
