Introduction

Montessori Institute is located in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, and we were the first Montessori school in Slovenia.

We have one main unit and three kindergartens in Ljubljana, and one smaller dislocated unit of school in the Upper Carniola region. All together we have more than 200 children attending our two schools.

We aim to build a community of lifelong learners, by taking care of a prepared environment where the children could develop their potential, and where adults would internalize authentic Montessori principles. We follow this philosophy in all aspects, including sport. We strive to support every aspect of the child’s movement development and joining Montessori Sports Education was the right way towards achieving that.

We integrate sports into our classroom by providing appropriate materials, space and freedom of choice, and just as any other subject, sports is a part of our daily learning routine.

We have many teachers with the Montessori Sports certificate, one also enrolled in the mentoring programme provided by Montessori Sports Education. By cooperating with the Montessori Sports and organising more courses, we strive to have even more employees with the Montessori sport certificate.

We highly recommend joining the course, it is not only a principle of work, it is a way of life.
